Mrs. Ashwini Kalsekar

Born  in  a  family  dedicated  to  Dance , Art  and Culture , Ashwini  received  an  initial  tutelage  in Kathak  at  the  tender  age  of  8 years  from  her mother  and  senior  Guru  Smt. Rekha  Nadgauda and  completed  her  Visharad  with  First Rank  from  A.B.G.M. mandal  Miraj .

She  has  a  strong  academic  background  in Kathak , having  completed  her  Masters  in  Kathak from  Lalit  Kala  Kendra , Pune  University  under  the  able  guidance  of  Pt. Smt. Shama  Bhate .

She is awarded :       

CCRT scholarships  conferred  by  Govt.  of  India  in 1984 -86. Scholarship  from  Department  of  Culture , Ministry  of  Human  Resources  Development , Govt. of India  in  1997.

She  was  awarded  Ist  Prize  in  All  India  Dance Competition  (open Group)  conducted  by  Swar Sadhana ,  Mumbai  in  1997 .

Ashwini's  firm  aim  is  to  nurture  and  propogate the  art  of  Kathak , by popularising  it  all  over  the  world .

Ashwini has choreographed dance sequences for Kirti Kala Mandir.

4) Metronome.
